Dichotomy
- Shubhankar Nath
- Poem
- November 8, 2020
I drew it on a moonless night but the lines came to me on a sunny afternoon.
Fell upon the world -
Soaked in blood, with a crushed skull.
Fragile as a toad
Lighting smiles, that took long to dull.
Crawling out the crib -
Nurtured, nursed, and left to play in dust
Either winning or learning
To strive you need to, do what you must.
Got tall and been confused
Lying under stars, wondering, what am I here for?
Stifled as I recall
Even mightiest Gods, had to earn their name in war.
Hardships are inevitable -
Pleasures unquenchable, chase it even with strides long!
Like shadows and sunshine
Joy and Sorrow, happens to always tag along.
In the journey of life -
Dichotomy is, even the most shiniest diamond
Came out of
Dirty coal, that’s been torched-n-toughened.
